  • Mapp vs OhioJune 19, 1961by: Adrianna Sass
  • Police came to Mapp's home without a warrant to search her home because they believed she was harboring a suspected bomber. The police demanded entry but Mapp wanted them to have a search warrant
  • The police entered anyways and searched Mapp's home.
  • In Mapp's room they found obscene pictures in a trunk
  • Dollree Mapp said the police went against her 4th amendment right, protection from unreasonable search and seizure. Her case against Ohio went to the supreme court. The court decided that the evidence found was seized unlawfully, without a search warrant so it could not be used in criminal prosecutions in state courts.
  • Mapp won the case against Ohio. on June 19, 1961
