- What should we do about Bob Ponyboy?
- Johnny that was a very brave thing to do, but you gotta be careful out there. I mean your lucky Bob didn't have a weapon to fight back. Ya understandin what I'm sayin?
- I'm not sure. I was thinking telling the police, but you now us greasers don't have a good reputation when it comes to the police.
- Do you think we should go tell Dally Winston about this?
- Yeah! Maybe he will have a plan on what we should do.
- Listen Dally, I accidentally killed Bob. You know the Soc?
- I know good old Bob. Here come with me in a quieter room, and we can talk about what's goin on here. Because Johnny, you need to explain what happened. Because, I'm in complete shock you would do something like that.
- Yes, I understand Dally.
- Ok so, Bob pulled up, and Ponyboy approached him. Next I saw, Ponyboy was being "drowned" by Bob. So, I had to help. So, I took out my switchblade, and killed him. Because he was hurting Ponyboy, and was going to eventually hurt me.
- Ok, Dally.
- Y'all need some warm clothes to wear, because if you want me to help, I got a way, but it's going to be cold up there. Gonna be stayin at a church on the top of a hill kind of by the city. But, you guys will have to jump on a cargo train to get there. So, just wear these clothes, because Buck Merril is calling me.
- We will Dally! Thanks for the clothes!
- You guys look ready now. Be careful on the train, and at the church. Don't do anything dumb.
