- Cuándo Sonia Sotomayor tuvo ocho años, ella tuvo diabetes, y cada día, ella necesitó tomar medicina. When Sonia Sotomayor was eight years old, she had diabetes, and she needed to take medicine every day.
- Sus padres siempre discuten sobre su medicina, así que ella aprendío comó hacerle. Her parents always fought about who would give her medicine, so she learned how to do it herself.

But, her mother thought that the most important thing is to study, if you want to succeed. However, Sonia was not a good student, so she asked for help from other students and her teachers.
