- After going to the oracle Oedipus was determined to avoid the prophecy.
- In order to avoid the oracle Oedipus had to know who his real parents are.
- Upon arriving home Oedipus gathered his courage to face his parents to ask them again if he is their real son.
- His parents may avoid his question for the second time but, Oedipus was determined and even explained the prophecy he received from the oracle.
- After hearing the oracle, his parents answered truthfully and Oedipus was both relieved and disappointed at the same time.
- After this his parents reminded him that they love him even though he is a foundling but, Oedipus is still worried about the prophecy coming true. So his parents assured him that they will overcome the prophecy.
