- It was about eleven o’clock at night, andshe was walking alone, when a boy ran up behindher and tried to snatch her purse.
- OY!
- If i turn you loose will you run?
- she's going to kill me or take me to the police

- i wanted a pair of blue suede shoes
- le's see what he'll do
- it's late at night in Harlem, New York. when a youn boy usuccesfully attempts to steal Mrs Luella Jones's purse, however she is a large woman like her large purse, so the boy tries to snatch the pocketbook and stumbles to the floor and feels a kick in his sitter.
- Thewoman did not ask the boy anything about where he lived, or his folks, or anything else that wouldembarrass him.
- do you need someone to go to the store?

- Once the boy stands up unsteadly, grabbed by the woman's clunched fists, while people looked at them. The woman looked ad Roger's dirty face and asked himif he had anybody home to clean his face, he shook his head and Mrs Jones took him headlocked to her house to clean his face up and bring his dignity back.

- Mrs Jones takes vulnerable Roger to her house and he washes his face and runs a comb through his hair. Mrs jones asks him why he tried to steal from her. Mrs Jones leaves roger alone with the purse he tried to steal and now roger doesn't want to be mistrusted as mrs Jones was opened about intimate things from her past to empathise with Roger, but he does think about scaping more than two times
- And he never saw her again
- i hope that boy learned from this. you never know the backstory. you can be forgiving and kind
- Mrs JOnes then comes bakc with food and after Roger finishes she offers him some more, they talk but not about Roger as Mrs jones feels he might be embarrased instead they talk about Mrs Jones personal life. Rpger find out she wokrs at a beauty shop
- Onceed they finished Mrs Jones walked Roger to the door and handed him a 10 pound note to buy the blue suede shoes he desperately wanted but shared with him, her wish for Roger to behave from now on. Roger was atonished, not a single word could formulate in his mouth just a simple 'thank you'.
- They never saw each other again, however the generosity, kindness and forgiveness from mrs Jones changed Roger, teaching him a moral and a life lesson
