Storyboard Text

  • Hey Charley, I want to ask you a questions.
  • Yes Ana...
  • Do you know the 3 main types of T cell?
  • Yes, it is cytotoxic, helper, and regulatory
  • That's right Charley, then what is the different role they play on the immune response.
  • Cytotoxic T cells are activated by cytokines. They can attach to cancer cells and kill them.
  • Helper T cells are arguably the most important cells in adaptive immunity, as they are required for almost all adaptive immune responses. They not only help activate B cells to secrete antibodies and macrophages to destroy ingested microbes, but they also help activate cytotoxic T cells to kill infected target cells.
  • regulatory T cells have a role in regulating or suppressing other cells in the immune system. Tregs control the immune response to self and foreign particles (antigens) and help prevent autoimmune disease. Tregs produced by a normal thymus are termed 'natural'.
  • Okay, now i know Charley.
  • bye.
  • Yah, I will go back to my house Ana. Thankyou for your time. Bye
