- This is DOUBLE JEOPARDY!
- The defendant has been proven innocent before and therefore cannot be tried again for the same crime! Case Dismissed!

- The Fifth Amendment is a part of the Bill of Rights.#160;
- Part of the Fifth Amendment is protection from Double Jeopardy
- Double Jeopardy means that you cannot be tried for the same crime twice after a verdict has already been reached (as in found guilty or not guilty)
