not every one had clothes and shoes. it was very cold and miserable winter. there losses is what led them to valley forge for the winter. they had a good spot with a good way to prevent the red coats from raiding Pennsylvanian they started with good sports.

the house was rented out for George Washington to live in. it was the nicest house in the camp because he was a general. it had two floor and way nicer than the soldiers.

there was a total of around 2000 huts on the camp for soldiers. they were built out of wood with two windows and trenches to protect the encampment.

they had very little food and there supplies were low. they did not have that much clothing or foot wear. and some soldiers were walking in the snow with out shoes bare foot in the snow.
the soldiers were having to amputate parts of there body because of the cold weather getting them sick and other negative things were happening to them because of the cold miserable winter. and there housing was bad.
baron Fredrick von Steuben was a Prussian general. he spoke no English. he taught 100 men some war tactics then the 100 men jobs were to teach another 100 men what they learned and the process so on untill every one knew the tactics.
