The year is 1992. Quinn is living in a group home where she is distanced from most of her peers. She lacks a sense of home and belonging and often runs off onto New York's streets.

Quinn is tracked down by Ava, a girl from the group home, who's found a postcard with the last known whereabouts of their family members. Ava asks Quinn to join her as she sets off to meet them or at the very least, learn more about them.

Quinn is reluctant to venture into the unknown for an unguaranteed reward and does not want to risk her comforting, fixed lifestyle. However, Ava breaks down in tears and seems to lose hope, which persuades Quinn to make the journey for Ava's sake.

A kind tourist shows Quinn and Ava the directions to Brooklyn, their final destination, and gives adventuring advice based on his experiences.
Ava and Quinn enter the subway station and leave behind their familiar bubble of New York. From here on, they will be traveling through foreign city.
Quinn and Ava face a series of obstacles that test their dedication and flexibility. However, they cheer each other on and persevere to their relatives' Brooklyn address.
