  • There's an upcoming war.
  • Hua Mulan's story begins with her father coming home sick and frail.
  • What do I do? I can't let father go....
  • Her father was a retired general and too weak and old to teach Mulan how to fight, as her father believed everyone should have an opportunity to learn.
  • One day, some government officials sent warriors to Mulan's village to notify them about an upcoming war.
  • Mulan saw her father's name on the list of warriors going to battle but knew that he wouldn't survive another war and her brother was too young to possibly go. But the military did not allow girls to take replacements for men.
  • So the next morning, before her father could report for duty, she stole his armour, disguised herself as a man and snuck out. She ended up fighting for China for 12 years and quickly learnt how to do martial arts and archery.
  • In the end, Mulan told people that she was a women and they recounted many memories and believed her after many tries. Mulan has married to Shang and gave birth to a son. Mulan's story is inspiring many young women to be brave and to do what they love and want.
