Storyboard Text

  • Hello, welcome to Taino my home. After the colonization, my home would be called Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
  • Here come the fisher man and women! We travel and hunt in the open ocean with canoes. We can make canoes that can fit one hundred, or just a couple people.
  • We often catch turtles, shellfish, and fish from the ocean to eat.
  • We should head back to the village. Hurricanes often strike our island, but we have learned to predict them.
  • CRACK!
  • In the village we farm and harvest corn, nuts, and tubers. We also roast and eat the ducks that wander the village.
  • Making sure that every body gets food is very important. Its also important for us that we respect people, animals, and the climate. Sometimes we have ceremonies for these things. Thank you for coming to Taino. I hope you enjoyed the tour.
