- Ralph, Jack, and Simon go exploring around, to see what they can find and figure out whether or not they had landed on an island.
- The little kids are terrifyed because they think there is a giant snake on the loose. They name it "beastie".
- The boys are trying to figure out what to do in order to get noticed by a helicopter, or boat (adults) if any come by.
- The boys collect dried wood and leafs to create a pile so they can set it on fire.
- They light a fire using Piggy's glasses to make an SOS sign.
- Piggy is tired of being overlooked and finds out that one of the children is missing (because he's dead).
