Storyboard Text

  • “A little while, and you will see me no longer; andagain a little while, and you will see me.” John 16:16
  • What do you mean?
  • Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, butyour sorrow will turn into joy.
  • Jesus goes to speak to his disciples and tells them that he is going to the father and soon, he will be leaving but he will later return.
  • Jesus' disciples were shocked and confused from his news. They didn't understand what he was trying to tell them and they were upset that theywould no longer see him and how he was going to see the father. So, they questioned Jesus on what he meant.
  • Jesus reassured his followers and explained the meaning to what he had said. He told them that soon they will weep and be sorrowful, but after they weep, the world will rejoice and their sorrow will turn into joy.
  • So also you have sorrow now, butI will see you again, andyour hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
  • Jesus relates his situation to the same as a a pregnant women giving birth that is full of sorrow because it is her hour.
  • But, after the baby is delivered, the woman will rejoice and forget the pain from before because she is happy she could bring another human into the world.
  • Jesus reminds his disciples again that although they will feel sorrow now, he will return, which it is all apart of Gods plan. God will also grant them to feel joy without it being taken from them again, and grants them with anything they ask God for, after being faithful servants to him.
