Storyboard Text

  • Medusa was a very beautiful maiden who lived in the city of Athens in Greece. She was considered to be the most prettiest girl in the city. Medusa was very proud of her beauty and kept boasting about it to everyone.
  •
  • Medusa bragged to the miller about her skin being more beautiful than fresh fallen snow. She told the cobbler that her hair glowed brighter than the sun. She commented to the blacksmith's son that her eyes were more greener than the Aegean Sea.
  •
  •
  • Medusa decided to go to the Parthenon temple with her friends. The Parthenon Temple was the largest temple in all land honoring Goddess Athena.
  • Yay! Parthenon Temple here we come!
  • The temple was decorated with great sculptures and paintings. Everyone in the temple was impressed by the beauty of the place and thought how grateful they all were to Athena, goddess of wisdom, for giving them inspiration and watching over the city of Athens. Everyone except Medusa.
  • Whoever made these sculptures did a pretty good job but perhaps I would have made a much better subject for the sculptor than Athena had. It's a shame this temple is wasted on Athena for I am much prettier than her! Perhaps some day people will construct an even grander temple to my beauty.
  • Oh No Medusa! Why would you say that?
  • Vain and Foolish girl! You think you are more prettier than me! I doubt it is true but there is more to life than beauty alone. While others work, play, learn and have fun, all you do it boast about your beauty and keep admiring yourself.
  • Everyone left the temple after hearing Medusa's words. Medusa started admiring herself in the mirror until she realized that Athena started to appear in that mirror.
  • Soon as Athena uttered those words, Medusa got turned into a hideous monster where her hair became snakes. Medusa's face was that hideous that if anyone would ever see her face, they would be turned into stone. In fact, Medusa herself would be turned into stone if she ever looks at her face ever again.
  • Medusa tried to explain how she gave inspiration to other people and making their lives easier by just looking good but Athena silenced her with a frustrated wave.
  • Beauty fades away in every mortal. It does not comfort the sick, teach the unskilled or feed the hungry. Now I shall turn you into a hideous monster and your fate will remind everyone to control their pride.
