  • Hi my name is Sally! I was wondering if you could teach me about the Russian Revolution and the First Red Scare?
  • Good day Sally! My name is John. I would be honored.
  • During the Russian Revolution Master Lenin led the Bolsheviks on a mission to seize power.
  • His plan was to spread communism to all the states.
  • Master Lenin is so cool! He is almost as cool as my horse.
  • The Bolsheviks are so not cool. Who do they think they are?!
  • There were two armies, the reds and the whites.
  • How come?
  • If we take a look at the Americans during this time we can see that they were nervous about communism spreading to America.
  • They feared that their rights would be threatened and that the government would take control of their land and businesses.
  • Please don't take away our shop. We beg you!!!
  • Fear of communism spreading to America led to the Red Scare. The government created the Palmer Raids in order to raid suspected radicals.
  • Thank you for your help John! I think I have a better understanding of the Russian Revolution and the Red Scare now.
  • This led to the Gitlow case right? The government wanted freedom of speech and press. Also the Schenck case went against the armies recruitment strategy.
