- I was born on July 27,1780 in Mexico. In 1808 I joined the Spanish Military. In 1928 I was named vice president of Mexico. I had three terms with politics. People call me President Bustamante.

- Law of April 6, 1830
- Austin wanted Texas to become a separate state so he wrote a letter to the local government in San Antonio. In January, when he reached Saltillo he was arrested. Mexican Officials read his letter and thought he had challenged Mexican authority.

- The law of April 6, 1830 banned U.S. immigration to Texas and made it illegal for settlers to bring more slaves into Texas.
