  • What are the 4 types  steps of Stratification?
  • The Weathering, Erosion, Deposition and Compaction.
  • Weathering is the process of many elements such as wind, water, animals, gravity also heat. It is also the breaking down or dissolving of rocks and mineral on water surface.
  • Weathering is also breakdown of rocks.
  • Second step is the Erosion or it will called Transport,.
  • After it will breaks down the smaller portion it will be combine the elements those are water, wind water and gravity.
  • It moves the rock to other place usually of bodies of water.
  • The deposition when the sediments broken-down into piece of rock goes on the river beds, ocean floor and other land masses, building up the layer.
  • When you put the rock together. Overtime it will form a thick layer and it will settle down.
  • What is the last one of step of stratification?
  • I don't know?
  • Hmmm? The compaction!
  • The compaction it is the weight of sediments can be press down and squeeze the layers into the smaller space.  can be the cementation or compaction. Also they are different.
  • The deposited sediments will decrease, and it will form together in one layer of sedimentary rock. These two process, it is the process of the lithification which mean to turn in to stone.
