- Into the lake Grendel's mother has gone , then into the lake I must follow!
- Wait! I want to offer you this , it's name is Hrunting.
- I am Beowulf, son of Ecgtheow, and I have come to learn the truth about your son's mischief.
- Who are you?
- You'd better tell me or you'll be sorry, believe me!
- YOU GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM ! YOU KILLED MY SON YOU IMBECILE!
- Beowulf goes into the lake where Grendel's mother lives in order to discover the secret that Grendel has left behind. Before he left, Unferth was ashamed of his disloyalty to Beowulf and came forward to offer him a sword as a form of defense.
- YOU'D BETTER SPEAK UP NOW OR YOUR TIME ENDS!
- Grendel's mother, filled with envy and hatred, was surprised by Beowulfs visit.
- Ahhhh!
- She knew the man who killed her son was standing in front of her when she saw Beowulf standing straight and tall, strong enough to swim down to her house. Beowulf demanded to know the truth, but she refused to speak.
- AHHHHH!
- Beowulf has had enough of Grendel's mother's games, and he has threatened to kill her with his sword if she does not begin speaking. Grendel's mother, feeling threatened, told him the truth while plotting something to attack Beowulf...
- FINE! Grendel the great destroyer, my son is in love with our queen Wealtheow, and their love grows stronger by the day. They share their love with their child Canes, and if you dare touch them, you will see something you have never seen before!
- Grendel's mother has had enough of Beowulf and attacked him. Beowulf struggled to defend himself against her claws and tearing teeth, but he was far stronger. He drew his sword, pushed her away from him, and stabbed her in her stone cold heart.
- Beowulf the beast also defeated Grendel's mother. He hewed off her head to take it to Hrothgar as proof of her death. Although Beowulf's mind was too preoccupied with how to tell Hrothgar what he had just heard.
