- The citizens of Holcomb tried to regulate but it couldn't due to the aftermath of the murders. For example, Bobby Rupp, Nancy's boyfriend tried to enjoy himself by doing things he liked to get over her death.
- Alvin Dewey and Nye were obsessed with wanting to find the two criminals.
- Meanwhile, Dick and Perry traveled through other states like Florida to escape being caught. While in Florida, Dick rudely posed in from of the ladies, while Perry kept his clothing on so people wouldn't see his legs.
- Dick and Perry were eventually caught in Las Vegas, Nevada.
