Storyboard Text

  • There was a ceremony hosted between different estates in France to try and make a change for the commoners. The king was wearing himself while the peasants in rags were being angered. The country was in dept and there would be new taxes. This made the commoners very angry. Then, the commoners expected more and started the revolution.

  • We need to come up with some new articles.
  • On June 20 the commoners and the Third Estate of the French Estates-General met together for a meeting. The meeting was held at the Palace of Versailles. At this meeting the commoners were discussing on how they would fight and change the french constitution. During this meeting they swore the Tennis Court Oath. At which, the commoners swore to never stop fighting until they made the constitution anew.

  • They angry mobs of commoners stormed the Bastille. This was a very deifying moment for the revolutionary war. The commoners were very aggressive toward the soldiers and tore down the Bastille. The Bastille had become a symbol of monarchy dictatorial rule. This later became France's national day.

  • After the storming of the Bastille came an assembly. During their meeting they tried to rewrite the constitution. At this point they adopted 18 articles. These articles concerned feudalism, privileges and rights. These were known as the French' Declaration of Rights
  • Bread was being priced so high and it was scarce. The women from the market place went on a march to change it. The kind was refusing the demand of bread. This forced the royals to come back to Paris. This was essentially one of the most important part of the french revolution so they would be fed for cheaper prices.
  • On this day the royal family of France were caught trying to flee to Paris. They were severely undermining their credibility. This led to end up being a crises on the king's half. They were unsuccessful to escape for Paris on the plane. This was a significant date for the people of France.
