Storyboard Text

  • The Call (Genesis 12:1-4)
  • I will do as you ask!
  • Abram...leave your country andyour people and go to the land that I will show you. I am going to make you into a great nation!

  • The Covenant (Genesis 15:1-21)
  • But God, how will I know that I will gainpossession of this land?
  • Abram...Do not be afraid for I will give you an heir and yourdescendants will be as numerous as the stars. I will give you this land and your nation will be great!
  • Go and bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each 3 years old, along with a dove and a pigeon!
  • In this story, Abram is living in Harran with his wife. Abram is called by God to leave his country, his people, and his father's household to go the God will show him. God told Abram he would make him into a great nation and be a blessing to all.

  • So Abram went as the Lord told him. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot,and hisaccrued people.

  • Abraham STOP!! I know now that you fear me. Do not kill you son but kill the ram caught int he thicket.
  • God came to Abram in a vision and said that he would give him a son and told him to look at the stars and count them. The Lord said that his descendants would be as great as the stars in the sky.

  • This place shall be called The Lord Will Provide for as he did so!
  • God told Abraham to go to a mountain in the region of Moriah and sacrifice his one and only son as a burnt offering. Abraham did as the Lordtold him and took his two servants and son and set off for the place God would show him.
  • Abraham took his son up the mountain to do as the Lord told him. As Abraham was about tosacrifice his son an Angel of the Lord stopped him and told him to not sacrifice him and to sacrifice a ram that was caught in the thicket.
  • The Lord called out to Abrahamagain and swore to him that hisdescendants would be great and he would be a blessing. After Abraham had sacrificed the ram he named the mountain The Lordwill provide and set off to Beersheba.
