- A boy wakes up in an elevator with the only thing he remembers is his name. When a long ride is over and the doors open to a bunch of boys staring at him they pull up thomas and welcome him.
- climax
- since Thomas is the new guy around they make fun of him and call him names. Alby the leader says the glade is not a good place. However, when a scream comes from the wood building newt and alby run off leaving Thomas with a new friend, chuck. But Thomas is now more curious than ever.
- falling action
- suddenly a new person is coming up the box. but its different its in the same month thomas came. the boys open the door and its a girl. everyone is so surprised they've never had a girl. but she hasn't woke up. and thomas feels a connection to her.
- resolution
- thomas and the other gladers are attempting to escape and thomas teresa have something to do with something. they fight grievers and some die.
- Thomas goes down the griever hole in the maze to turn off the grievers.
- the rescuers save them and they crowd onto the bus and take them somewhere
