- Messenger: The condition of her eyes and her lovely face were murky, and blood dripping from her bones like sap from a pine, through the hidden gnawing of the poisons a terrible sight.and "ah let me die with you my child" said Creon and when he stopped his weeping and wailing he wanted to raise up his old limbs but was held back by the fine robes like ivy. He wanted to get up on his feet but she held him fast. After a time he eventually gave up and let go of his life then both child and aged father lay there dead together.
