- Oedipus leaves Corinth after the rumor of being adopted; he travels to Delphi for the Oracle.
- I am adopted? I will prove them wrong! I am the son of my father and mother.
- The Oracle tells him that he will kill his father and marry his mother, he is in-denial of this.
- No, that cannot be. I will prove the prophecies wrong.
- You will kill your father and marry your mother.
- Oedipus kills his father, Laius, during an argument along the crossroad. He did not know who he was back then.
- Oedipus arrived in Thebes and solved the riddle of the Sphinx.
- It is a human being that has 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs at noon, and 3 legs during twilight.
- The Oracle says that to end the plague, they must find the murderer and have him exiled; the murderer is in Thebes.
- The only way to end the plague is to have the murderer of King Laius exiled. The murderer is here in Thebes.
- Jocasta tells Oedipus the story of Laius' death. Oedipus thinks the occurrence is familiar.
- Laius was killed by thieves at the three way crossroad, he never came back.
