- Oh, how little this house cost me, while others spend a fortune on their own.
- I don't need much to be happy, only the simplest of things.
- Would you like to buy a hand woven basket?
- No, thank you. I don't need one.
- How do you expect me to feed my family? You have to buy one since I made it myself by hand, it's your job to.
- It was almost as if the Indian assumed that the lawyer had to buy a basket like it was his job to.
- I could hear the Indian arguing with the lawyer because he wouldn't buy any baskets.
- There's nothing special about the baskets, how does he expect to sell something others can easily make.
- I pay $30 for this 32 side by side room at college and I have to pay tuition.
- I share this room with someone else and I have noisy neighbors. I had to spend more money and buy furniture that I have to share.
- I spent less money on all of this and I learned skills, while the college student spends more on a room and furniture he has to share.
- I made all of this myself even the furniture. I don't need multiples of every item, only 1 or 2.
- I plowed the land myself. I don't need to waste money and pay people to do stuff for me when I can do it myself.
- I was able to grow enough food to feed myself and to sell.
- I can do the same stuff I would pay others to do. I would also save money by doing it myself.
