  • BIBLE ADVENTURES WITH LUFFY
  • By: Angel Adejobi
  • Hey guys, my name is Luffy and today I was reading my bible when I wondered how many people really know about how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead!
  • Although Jesus was a busy man, with healing people and preaching the gospel, he still made time for his friends and some of his best friends were Mary, Martha, and Lazarus and he often spent time at their house in the village of Bethany.
  • One day when Jesus was far away with his disciples, he found out that Lazarus had been very sick which made him very sad. Mary and Martha hoped Jesus would come back and heal Lazarus but Jesus decided not to go.
  • 2 days later, and Jesus never went to go see Lazarus, then the news came, Lazarus had passed away but Jesus explained to his disciples that Lazarus was simply just asleep. Jesus was trying to explain the he was more powerful that death itself but no one understood him
  • “Your brother will rise and be alive again.”
  • "Jesus, if you had been here my brother would not have died!"
  • Jesus arrived at Lazarus's house only to find out his friend has been dead 4 days as his sisters weeped, wishing Jesus had come sooner to heal their brother.
  • Jesus and all the mourners went to Lazarus's tomb and Jesus wept. When the onlookers saw Jesus's tears they knew he loved Lazarus. Jesus was sad for Lazarus but more sad that all these people had little faith in him, he was going to show them that with God, anything is possible
  • “Lazarus, come out!”
  • Jesus went to the tomb and said "TAKE THE STONE AWAY," Martha protested that it probably stink but Jesus kept insisting. Then he screamed....
  • Lazarus's hands and feet were wrapped with pieces of cloth. He had a handkerchief covering his face. Jesus said to the people, “Take off the cloth and let him go.”
  • The story of Lazarus teaches us that Jesus has power over life and death and when God seems to be doing nothing, he may being doing so much more!
