- Instead of saving Teresa from the excited boys that have surrounded her bedside, Thomas runs to his secret hideout in the Deadhead forest, but she finds him there.
- I want her locked up. Now. Billy! Put her in the Slammer, and ignore every word that comese out of her shuck mouth!
- What're you talking about? Alby you can't-
- When Teresa telepathically told Thomas that the Maze is a code it was her way of desperately communicating one last memory before it faded. She also wrote "WICKED is good" on her arm, but can't remember why.
- During their conversation, Alby, Newt, and a few other boys find them. Alby is mad at Thomas because Teresa ran straight to him when she woke up. She admits that she triggered the Ending but doesn't know what that means.

- In typical paranoid-leader fashion, Alby has Teresa thrown in the Slammer because he knows she has something to do with everything, though he has no idea what.
- All the boys are going to sleep in the Homestead, which is being barricaded against the inevitable Griever attack. Nonperishable food and weapons are being bought into the Homestead in case they get trapped there.
- Thomas goes to the Slammer to say goodnight to Teresa and to let her know he's got her back before going into the Homestead for the night.
