Storyboard Text

  • I use symbolic figures to represent humans, and the farm as a representation for a world war. I also use the events that happened in Russia at that time to represent the communist rule of the Soviet Union.
  • Why did you choose to utilize allegory in your novel Animal Farm, Orwell?
  • I use humorous satire by setting the story on a farm and having the animals act like human beings. The pig Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin, the dogs represent Stalin's police force, and the raven Moses represents the Russian Orthodox church, and so on.
  • In your book, how do you use satire?
  • There are several lessons in my book, but the most important one is that just because people (politicians) appear smarter than you, does not mean they will act in your best interests. I also teach the reader about equality and inequality, power, control, and corruption, as well as how too much government leads to dictatorship.
  • Why did you chose fable on a topic like this?
  • I'm curious as to what Major's dream is.
  • I'm hoping it's important!!!
  • Comrades! I've taken over as your leader now that Snowball has abandoned you! Only I, and no one else, will you obey!!
