- Rita is a 12-year-old girl who simply loves the digital world but she had been facing a few issuesonline due to which she was feeling quite low. Rita goes for therapy where she feelscomfortable talking to her therapist, Ms. Sophia.
- During the session
- Ms. Sophia: Good Afternoon Rita. How are you doing today?
- Rita: I am doing good today. What about you?
- Rita: Umm, I do not think so. Well, I guess there was a person who called me a complain box. Later during English, a group of children were teasing me, saying that I was not “Girly! But I was a boy."
- Ms. Sophia: So, anything new today? Did anything happen that you would like to share?
- Ms. Sophia: Oh, wow. Let us tackle each problem separately.
- Rita: They say this because I am a part of the Debate team. I had lost my focus after all this teasing and I was unable to do well for debating. Then the other team made fun of me and said that, “I am not supposed to be in the debate class, because I am a girl.
- Ms. Sophia: First, tell me why did they call you a complain box?
- Rita: Okay
- Sophia: Okay, in this situation don’t you think it is actually that person’s problem and not yours
- Rita ( in anger): I was simply telling ma’am about how everyone was chatting online during the class, which disturbed my friends and me!
