How Scientists/Geologists Find out about Past Climates

Milankovich Cycles

Corrientes Oeanicas

Climate is the average temperature in a specific geographical location over a long period of time.

Ice Age is known for extremely cold temperatures. It's the time when Earth was covered with ice and snow. All dinosaurs died when Ice Age started. Jurassic Period is known for hot temperatures. Dinosaurs thrived in that hot climate.

q en en ano anterior fuemucho mas de hielo y en este ano fue un poquito menos de Hielo y tambien q los animales

Every 100,000 years climate changes because the orbit of our planet Earth changes. When the orbit has a shape of a circle, it's warm here. when orbit changes its shape into an oval, it's cold.

Volcanoes impact Earth's climate in two ways: air pollution and global cooling. Air pollution happens when volcanoes erupt. Then, the gases prevent the sunlight to hit the Earth. It causes the temperatures drop, which is global cooling.
