Storyboard Text

  • How Now, Ophelia? What's the matter?.
  • O my lord, I have been so affrighted.
  • with what, i' th' name of god.
  • My lord, as i was sewing in my closet, Lord Hamlet, with his doublet all unbraced; no hat upon his head; his stocking fouled Pale as his shirt, As if he had been loose out of hell To speak op horrors -- he come before me.
  • Mad for thy love?
  • My lord, I do not know, But truly I do fear
  • Hamlet is acting out of the normal and telling Ophelia crazy stuff. And she is telling her father, Polonius about everything that Hamlet has told me.
  • What said he?
  • He took me by the wrist and held me hard then goes he to the length of all his arm, He falls to such perusal of my face As he would draw it. And, with his head over his shoulder turned he seemed to find his way without his eyes and to the last bended their light on me.
  • In here she is explaining what he did and how he did it. And Polonius is just there listening in shock at everything.
  • Come go, with me , I will seek the king this is the very ecstasy of love.
  • No, my good lord. But as you did command I did repel his fetters and denied His access to me.
  • Polonius has a few theories about what might be causing Hamlet's madness. And one of the theories he has is that he might be acting crazy because the love he has for Ophelia. But Ophelia doesnt know what to think or believe.
  • That Hath made him mad. I am sorry that with better heed and judgement I had not quoted him. I feared he did but trifle And meant to wreck thee. This must be known, which, being kept close, might move. More grief to hide than hate to utter love. Come.
  • Ophelia continues explaining Hamlet's acts, To her father, Polonius. She explains hpe he forcefully held her and intimidated her. Polonius is listening attentively to his daughter.
  • Polonius thinks that all of this so called "madness" of Hamlet is caused by the love he has for Ophelia. Ophelia tells her father she does not believe it is such thing , but that she in deed did what he told her to do. Which was to reject Hamlet.
  • Even though Polonius listened to Ophelia closely, he misunderstood the whole thing for another. Now he thinks that was Hamlet's love proclamation. And now Polonius thinks it should be talked about with others (king and queen).
