- There have been many school shootings throughout US history. All different ages of shooters from children to elderly. From those that claimed to be sane to those that claimed mental instability. independent of what the reason was for bringing the gun to school it took a person to pull the trigger to kill someone. There have never been any federal laws put into place due to school shootings. Only states are the ones that have created laws to protect our schools.
