Storyboard Text

  • Otto Von Bismarck,was a Prussian politician who used foreign policy to unite a north German federation. Using Iron and Blood meaning war and dominance over ethnical German territories, he unites the ethnic German population in Europe.
  • I am Otto Von Bismarck, and I will unify Germany through Blood and Iron!
  • Schleswig War!
  • In 1864, Bismarck thought of the idea to convince Prussia's main opposition when it comes to Prussian Dominance Austria. Bismarck's plans to convince Austria to declare work on Denmark to liberate the Schleswig-Holstein Territories was successful. This works out for Prussia with their modernized military state and the secret plan to reap the winnings of this war.
  • Schleswig War
  • In 1884 Bismarck's plan worked and they successfully liberate the Schleswig Holstein from the Danish. After the war Prussia took hold of the Schleswig and Holstein by Austria. After this Prussia began the start of the Northern German Confederation.
  • Austro-Prussian War
  • In 1886 the Austro - Prussian war began. Better known as the ' seven weeks war '. the Prussian army dominated the weaker and less organized Austrian army, kicking them out of the Holstein territory creating the first footsteps of the Northern German Federation.
  • Through Blood and Iron!!!
  • While the Schleswig Wars were happening Bismarck had annexed and created more alliance with his concept of a Northern German Federation. The last of the wars was the Franco - Prussian war where he selectively quoted and forged a telegram to be so offensive that France declares war on Prussia.
  • Bismarck specific reasoning to fight the war with France was to gain support from the German states that had continued to resist the domination of Prussia. Starting this war was a strategic public move to gain support by common enemy. Prussia easily dominated the nation of France with the 150,000 troops that Prussia had captured. By 1871 the nation of Germany was unified.
