- Joe lives in an apartment with his cat, a very fluffy Persian named Harry. Joe loved Harry very much and bought him the very best cat food. In return, Harry kept all the pests away from the apartment. Joe didn't stay at his apartment all day, as he had a job at the post office as a mailman driving to people's houses in the company's van and giving them their mail. Joe loved his job.
- Joe woke up to a broken cupboard. What could have happened here?! A noise from the cupboard. Joe shot up with a start. Harry! He threw open the cupboard door, and out came Harry. Harry had been locked in the cupboard. He looked around and realized all the food had been taken. The food, the muddy footprints, Joe's collection of old books... "The footprints!" yelled Joe.
- He grabbed his sandals and followed them, all the way into a homeless shelter by his work. He peeped inside, looking for someone with muddy shoes. "Aha!" said Joe. The kid there had shoes caked in mud. He was also holding all the stuff taken from the pantry and was feeding them to a cat. "Oh..." whispered Joe. Suddenly understanding why the kid had stolen his stuff, Joe went back home.
