The Cyclops

- Who are you? And where from?
- I am Nobody and we are from Troy
- Odysseus and his men arrived on a land full of uncivilized Cyclops. Odysseus ordered several of his men to stay behind and watch the ship while he brought twelve of his best fighters to explore the land.
- Who hurt you?
- Nobody hurt me!
- Odysseus and his men come across a cave and decided to explore it. They then waited for the Cyclops to come back since Odysseus wanted to see what the Cyclops had to offer. When the Cyclops arrived, he asked Odysseus who he is and where they're from. Odysseus lied saying his name is Nobody and told him they're from Troy.
- "Cyclops, if ever mortal man inquire how you were put to shame and blinded, tell him Odysseus, raider of cities, took your eye: Laerte's son , whose home's on Ithaca."
- The Cyclops ate two of Odysseus's men and drank the wine offered by him. The Cyclops then fell asleep, which is an effect of the wine, allowing Odysseus to have an opportunity to share his plan among his men.
- Odysseus and his men found a wooden stick, heated it over the fire until it is bright red and stabbed the Cyclops eye. The Cyclops screamed in agony, and several other Cyclops came by and asked him who had hurt him and the Cyclops answered "Nobody hurt me!" The others thought that no one had hurt him so they didn't think much of it.
- Odysseus and his men successfully escaped to the ship by hiding under the sheep's bellies where the Cyclops had looked but did not find Odysseus or one of his men due to his injured eye. On the ship, Odysseus began to get on the Cyclops nerves and gets too confident with himself. He then exposed his real name, and informed the Cyclops where his home is.
- The Cyclops turned out to be Polyphemus, son of Poseidon. Polyphemus then began to pray to his father to curse Odysseus to not allow him to get home and that the years ahead for him will be dark.
