- Buses in Montgomery and the rest of the America was segregated and whites got the choice of sitting in the front but blacks had to pay fare because their section was the back of the bus
- December 1,1955 Rosa Parks was arrested for not moving to the back of the bus like she should have because she was tired and ready to go home, the police was called and she was later arrested
- People started to Boycott the buses after the story was released and people around Montgomery stopped riding the bus so they didn't get much business and this pushed forward the civil rights movement, and helped with segregation on the buses.
