DEFINE THE PROBLEM: The problem was that I couldn't decide what college I want to go to and that would be the most affordable for me and what was best for me, whether I wanted it was William and Mary or University of Virginia.
" I don't know where I wanna go...."
ANALYZE THE PROBLEM: The situation is money and if I am able to afford to go to a school that's in Charlottesville, VA where I have to pay for food, dorm, and classes on top of that. or stay closer to home in Williamsburg.
"which one?"
THINK OF ALL POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS: I could apply for scholarships, talk to my parents, get a job, list pros and cons about both schools, go to both schools and experience the daily life there.
" Why are there so many decisions to make when you grow up?"
ANALYZE THE SOLUTIONS: If I apply for scholarships I could save much more money and can go to a college that is a little farther away like UVA, I can get a job over the summer, this would save me enough money to have the opportunity to pick what college I want to go with because I would have some money to spend. I could list pros and cons, this would tell me which school it better for me. I could talk to my family, which would influence me in what decision I want to make. If I am able to take tours, this would help me get the idea of what each schools is like.
"William and Mary or UVA, why does this have to be so stressful and why is college so expensive?"
SELECT THE BEST SOLUTION: The best solution for me is to apply for as many scholarships I can and I get a job over the summer, so I can go to a school that I want and be able to afford it without going too far from home, which is William and Mary because UVA is too far from home for me.
" Then I think I should apply for William and Mary, it would be cheaper and closer, and applying for scholarships could help me out and getting a job would help me even more."
"You need to think about what school is best for you!"
" You have to understand if you go farther away, it would be way more expensive."
PLAN YOUR NEXT COURSE OF ACTION: Over the summer, I will apply for jobs and save as much money as I can to be able to help my parents out with paying for college. I will also spend time finding a lot of scholarships that I can apply for and writing essays. With this solution, I will be able to attend William and Mary.
