Storyboard Text

  • After losing a battle, King James II attempts to make his escape for his safety but then is later captured.
  • You cannot make all my decisions, I am king after all.
  • King James II
  • We are parliament, we help monitor these decisions so you do not make foolish ones such as now.
  • Parliament
  • Parliament then sets King James II to fight William of Orange of Dutchland; his son-in-law. This way, if Orange wins, Mary, a protestant, will take control.
  • If I need be, then I shall go fight.
  • Majesty, we need you to go to war with Sir William of Orange.
  • During the battle, King James II's close friends and family left him.
  • How could you all leave me? I may have all power but I should be respected as my God given right as king correct?
  • No, you wish for no progress and you are preventing the forwarding of this Glorious Revolution. William and your daughter will rule fairer than you.
  • You cannot leave this place. That is against your role as a king and ruler of a commonwealth. You must understand that you are not above everyone and you cannot run from your problems.
  • King James II then finally makes his escape and dies in exile in 1701.
  • I shall now be able to leave and live without my head being served on a platter and not have to go through the extraneous measures to not pull my hair out while talking with parliament.
  • This now marks the beginning of a more fair, balanced monarchy that does not have an absolute rule from one leader. King James II was undeniably a villain and did not want people to be treated as everyone else. His craving for ultimate power was his downfall. He wanted to keep the country in the past and to restrict people only to how he wish people would live.
  • I, Queen Mary II, can now comfortably take role in the monarchy with my father now being gone. The parliament and monarchy shall now coexist and live constitutionally!
