- I love to read books
- When Matilda was 2 she learnt what people should learn in the 30s like how to take care of herself every morning Matilda’s older brother went to school, her father went to work selling used cars making money for unfair prices, and her mother goes out for bingo Matilda was left alone every day by the time she was 4 Matilda had read every magazine in the house.
- one night Matilda had the courage to ask her father for something she desperately wanted “A book what do you want a book for” asked her father “to read”whispers Matilda but all the response was there’s a tv right in front of you as her brother yanked her back the next day Matilda went of to search for a book.
- As she walked to the library everyday after her mom had left she would grab a book and read and read she would finish a few picture books in a day after all the children’s books had been read she started going into the adults section “did you know that you can get a card and bring books home so you don’t have to come here everyday” says mrs Phelps“that would be brilliant” says Matilda in excitement So off she went down the road with her red wagon as her young brain grew
- Matildas dad saw the book and pulled her up “now go watch tv like a good kid” as she went back to her room and kept reading as they joined Matilda at the dining table to calculate the money from the used cars”can repeat the last one”says Matilda’s brother “10,265 dollars for all of them” says Matilda . Her dad got angry and shoved her in her room the next morning she creeped in her parents room with some hair dye and swapped it for his normal hair pair gel so when he walks out his hair is blonde
- They arrive to worm wood motors and start working and then Matilda put super super glue in his hat so it would stick they pulled and pulled until it finally came off “from now on whatever I say do it” says Matildas dad as he rips up Matildas book “that’s not mine it’s a library book daddy”Yells Matilda “who cares now watch tv” as Matildas dad yells back she forced to watch it while her dad holds her head looking at the screen she stares and stares then suddenly the tv brew up with her eyes Later on very early in the moring he gets a buyer “Im mrs Trunchbull principal of Crunchem hall elementary school”.
- “Matilda you’re going to school tommorow” says Matildas dad “thank you daddy” she says she gets ready for her big day she loved her teacher Mrs Honey *knock, knock* as Mrs Honey enters Mrs Trunchbul’s office “ I think Matilda should be in a older class she can do big multiplications in her head” says Mrs Honey “so can a calculator” says Mrs Trunchbull later on when Matilda gets home
