  • How dare a princess want to marry a peasant!
  • Rising Action
  • If you tell me which door holds the tiger and which holds the lady, I will give you all this money.
  • Once upon a time, a princess fell in love with a peasant, against the wishes of her father. Her father, the king, had a fair way of meteng out justice to criminals - he would place them in an arena, and have them choose between two doors. One hid a tiger, and one hid a beuatiful lady for hime to marry.
  • Climax
  • Should I tell him to go to the right or the left? I know which door hides the tiger and which hides the lady...
  • When the king found out about the secret relationship, he was furious. He arrested the prince and scheduled a trial.
  • Falling Action
  • Right
  • The princess took some of her father's money and bribed one of the palace slaves, to find out which door held life, and which door held death.
  • Resolution
  • The princess now knows which door holds what, but she can't decide what to tell her lover. She woould never kill him, whould she? But could she watch him happily marry her rival?
  • What should I do?
  • I can't let him die. But I can't let hime live and watch hime fall in love with the beuatiful lady!!
  • The day of the trial arrives. The lover walkes into the arena and exhanges a look with the princess. He's asking her: right or left? Which door holds life? She motions to the door on the right.
  • Right or left?
  • The lover walks slowly to the door on the right. What's behind it? Is it the lady or the tiger? He doesn't know. We don't know. And I will leave you with that . . . the lady, or the tiger?
