  • The French Revolution put an end to absolutism, feudalism, serfdom, and the privileges of the clergy and nobility
  • This was a violent period in which the old regime was overthrown
  • These are some of the characters that helped achieve this

  • Marat
  • Voltaire
  • At this time of the revolution Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette reigned, who lived with great luxuries while the people went hungry, for a time they had to be refugees due to what was happening with the people
  • At this time there were 3 states that were in charge of the people and in relation to this
  • To reach an agreement, hundreds of disputants met who went and defended certain states, in which, the disputed that defended the 3 state were removed from the assembly and on their own they made their own assembly room.
  • After so many problems with the people and the monarchy, an agreement was reached to approve the constitution which says that power is held by the nation and not the king, which was approved until 1791
  • After that, other problems were found, of which people who worked badly were cut off their heads or killed, then in 1795 a new constitution was made which said that the legislative power had two chambers, but it was not reached to no census, then in 1799 Napoleon carried out a coup which for many ended the revolution but for others it did not
