- Climax
- But, the Amontillado!
- Montresor stands waiting for someone. When he finds a drunk Fortunato he tells him that he has purchased Amontillado. Fortunato does not believe him so Montresor offers to take him to his vaults and show him.
- Falling Action
- Won't people be expecting me to come back?
- Montresor takes Fortunato down to his catacomb and Fortunato starts to cough. Montresor offers to go back but Fortunato wants the Amontillado.
- Resolution
- As they get down to the catacomb Montresor starts to push Fortunato into the niche. Fortunato starts to understand what Montresor is planning to do.
- As Fortunato begins to realize he's being trapped he starts to scream. Montresor starts to wall up the entrance and plaster Fortunato in.
- When Montresor is almost done with plastering the wall he can still slightly hear the bells of Fortunatos hat. He starts to feel sick in his stomach, but his task of revenge is finally completed.
