  • Racism is a grown-up disease, and adults should stop using kids to spread it. Today, the education system has improved, which has allowed children to understand the negative impacts of racism. If adults taught children to respect others, children will have bright futures.
  • How do you believe racism spreads?
  • Since I was only six years old, I didn't realize that the protests and insults were about me. The protests were very loud, so I assumed it was Mardi Gras. Since I was a child, I was extremely innocent. Therefore, my innocent personality allowed me to overcome the problems.However, when I realized that the protests and insults were about me, my values saved me. I knew how much trouble my parents went through to ensure I received a good education. I didn't want my parents to regret their decision about my capability.
  • Many people in your elementary school community were angry about you joining them. How did you persevere through their insults and protests?
  • I believe my experiences have benefited others. Today, children understand and embrace their differences. This has allowed everyone to have unique personalities and develop new friendships.
  • How has your influence on desegregating schools benefited others?
