- Welcome to Ecuador, Bienvenidos a Ecuador!
- Antonio just turned 19 on January 15, so he wanted to visit the Ecuadorian Amazon for his birthday. For this reason, he took a plane from Spain to get to Ecuador.
- Antonio was thrilled to visit Ecuador and since he wanted to waste no time, ordered a cab and directly went to his hotel, where he had booked an afternoon walk.
- I don't feel well, I am burning hot. I have so many mosquito bites, OMG!
- When Antonio started his walk, he realized that it Ecuador had a hot environment and that there were a lot of flies due to the time of the year.
- So, Antonio, the thing is that you have Dengue. Which is a mosquito-borne viral disease, which can explain your fever and the fact that you are not feeling so well. It will take some time for your body to adapt to the disease.

- Without Antonio even noticing, he got many mosquito bites, but there was one particular bite that was bothering him throughout the walk, which in the end he didn't give a lot of importance. This mosquito bite trespassed the skin, which is part of the first line of defense of the immune system, and breaks this barrier. In this way, the pathogen enters Antonio's body.
- Two days later, Antonio wasn't feeling well and had a fever so he went to the local doctor to get checked up because he couldn't handle it anymore.
- Antonio goes into the doctor's office, the doctor tells him some bad and good news.
