- If you don't marry Paris by Thursday in the church, Juliet, you'll be tossed out of my house and thrown out on the street for being a disobedient wretch

- The nurse in this play is a caring person, because in this act Nurse investigates Romeo, because she could see that Juliet was in love with Romeo but was too afraid to figure out who he was on her own, so she asks her nurse to learn more about him, and when she reveals who he is, she says it in a way that she had been really worried for her because Romeo was a montague and Juliet's family despised montagues.
- Mr. Capulet simply does not care about his own daughter, since he would marry her to a stranger who just urged him to marry his daughter because the stranger is wealthy. This demonstrates that Mr. Capulet is a terrible father.
- Mr. Capulet is clearly enraged at Juliet as a result of what he has discovered. He discovered she was dating Romeo, one of his most despised enemies, the Montagues. When Nurse heard them arguing, she fell into tears and told him to stop. This demonstrates that the nurse is more concerned about Juliet than Juliet's father.
