- Ancient Egypt: The Shaduf
- This is a shaduf. It helps us to get water easily.
- What is that hanging on the wood?
- This shows a person that is cooking meat from an animal that he hunted. From the Old Stone Age, people did not know how to farm, so people only hunted for food. They also didn't have much time for anything else because their food supply was not efficient. So, they would have to hunt every day.
- This shows fertile land from the Tigris and Euphrates River. When people learned how to farm, people also invented irrigation. Irrigation is a small trench filled with water that is next to the plants that grow food near the trench. This helped people with farming more, so not everyone had to be farmers and can choose other jobs.
- This shows the Nile River, a shaduf, and a pyramid. When the person asks him what is the wood structure all about, the other person says that it is a shaduf. This helps people get water easily from the river. Egyptians made other inventions during its time.
