  • How many of you know about the life cycle of a butterfly? Today we will learn about the life cycle of the butterfly.
  • A butterfly has four stages in its life cycle
  • A butterfly first begins as an egg.
  • A butterfly may also be called an "Imago or Adult". It may take them several days to learn to fly. Once they do they take off and look for food.
  • 2nd: The butterfly grows into a caterpillar. Which is also called "Larve". A caterpillar is long and looks similar to a worm.
  • They are very colorful, different and they love to eat and eat.
  • During this time the caterpillar is resting. A change is taking place inside the pupa. It begins to turn into a butterfly.
  • Stage 3: The caterpillar (or larva) sheds its skin rapidly and turns into the chrysalis or pupa.
  • During the 4th stage the chrysalis opens up and slowly a beautiful creation comes out.
