Storyboard Text

  • The Ottoman Empire was created by Osman I. They took over territories all over South Western Asia, one by one. It was inspired and upheld by Muslims and Muslin institutions.
  • The Ottoman Empire ruled in Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Egypt, Hungary, Arabia, Syria and Palestine.
  • Sultan was considered the "Protector of Islam." The citizens of Ottoman Empire were Monotheistic. The worshiped Allah and the holy book Quran.
  • In the late 1800s, there were several rebellions and the Ottoman Empire continued to lose territory. Political and social instability in the 1890s created international negativity against the empire. The Ottoman Empire officially came down after World War I with the Treaty of Sevres.
  • Britain and France took over the Middle East. They created National boundaries based on their own oil interest, not interest and the cultures of the citizens. This is known as partioning.
  • Many years after Britain and France lost control of the countries, these boarders still cause conflict and civil war between countries.
