Storyboard Text
- The narrator of The Great Gatsby is a young man from Minnesota named Nick Caraway. He had arrived in New York, where he moved to work in the bond business and rented a house on a part of Long Island called West Egg., right next to Gatsby’s mansion.
- One night, he drives to East Egg to have dinner with his cousin, Daisy and her husband, Tom, an old friend from Yale. Daisy introduces her friend, Jordan Baker.
- When Nick gets back from the dinner, he finds Gatsby standing on the lawn, reaching out for a green light by the end of the dock.
- ”Daisy! Daisy! Daisy! I’ll say it whenever I want want to! Daisy?! Dai-“
- “Shut up!”
- One day on the way to NYC with Tom, he made get off the at unexpected stop, in the Valley of Ashes. Tom wants Nick to meet a mechanic man named George Wilson and Tom introduces Myrtle, George’s wife and the woman that Tom is hanging an affair with.
- Later in the night, there is a party at Tom and Myrtle apartment in New York. Nick meets Myrtle’s sister, Catherine and a couple of people who live down stairs. That night, everyone gets pretty drunk including Nick.
- “Later Tom and Myrtle get into a very heated argument where Tom yells at her for bringing up Daisy’s name into the conversation. Myrtle doesn’t care and taunts Tom with Daisy’s name. Tom gets really angry and breaks her nose causing the girls to run with her to the bathroom to help her.
