  • Galileo Publishes Messenger of the Heavens
  • This book explains the observations he made about the moon's surface not being flat and a bit about Jupiter's moons. The Catholic Church warned Galileo about his books and told him he could write as long as the theories were kept neutral and there was no full on conclusion.
  • You must stop spreading these theories!
  • But they're true! Trust me!
  • This is the scientific method still taught today in schools. Its process is Question, Hypothesis, Experiment, Analyze Data, and Conclusion. This method allowed people to find out their biggest questions answered and to sometimes see how two things relate.
  • Francis Bacon Invents Scientific Method
  • I'll call this work, Novum Organum!
  • Galileo gets charged with heresy after he didn't follow the church's request of writing in a neutral tone. He was told to give up his theories, or be executed. He lied that he longer believed in the theories and was given the lighter punishment of house arrest.
  • Galileo Put on House Arrest
  • I sentence you to house arrest for the rest of your life!
  • Okay! The theories are untrue and I don't believe them!
